The polymers are completely dry, with a high molecular weight and a surface, and have a relationship with oil and not with water. Where contact is made with oil products, there is a natural bonding that results in the oil viscosity increasing dramatically and transforming to a rubbery consistency. The blend of polymers is called a solidifier and has a highly attractive force to hydrocarbon compounds, namely oil, diesel of various kinds, petrol, etc. The process is sometimes referred to as “van de Waals force”. The solidification process is governed by the size of the individual polymer units, the larger the diameter of the individual grain, the faster the solidification.

The end result is a rubbery consistency, which can be easily taken care of. The solidification process takes between a half and a few minutes. The residual product is not harmful to the environment or living beings and excess granulate can be left without any risks.
